Abstract

Cholera is an acute disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholera and is characterized mainly by watery diarrhea. The bacterium has more than 200 serogroups but only serogroup O1 and O139 which thrive in crowded housing conditions with poor sanitation have been associated with outbreaks worldwide.
Cholera infections are commonly severe, and highly virulent, additionally, cholera outbreaks usually occur in areas which have contaminated water or food because of poor sanitary measures, the bacteria is transmitted along the gastrointestinal tract through contaminated food or water, vibrio cholera produces cholera toxin, which causes the clinical symptoms of the infection.
The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of educational program on knowledge, attitude and practice about cholera among female’s employees in Sana’a University-Yemen.
A quasi-experimental design was used (pre, post and follow up). a convenience sample of all female’s employees in Sana’a university who agree to participant in the study, and complete the program implementation on 230 female’s employees.
Tools of the Study:
Three tools were utilized to collect data for this study as following:
Tool (I): Structured interview questionnaire.
The structured interview questionnaire was developed by the researcher based on the review of relevant literature, and available resource. which divided into two parts:
First Part:- Demographic characteristics of female employees according to (Abd El-Tawab 2012) used to assess socio-demographic data
