(14) Research results:
1. Web Quests contributed to the development of religious behavior of the students.
2. Web Quests contributed to the development of students’ technology awareness.
• Technology Awareness
(10) Definition of Terms:
(1) Web Quests
Messlon & Downey (2001) and Strickland (2005) define web quest as an inquiry-oriented activity in which learners interact with some and gather and analyze all information, then transfer it to a new understanding and a profound manifestation of comprehending the material by creating an end product that others can interact with or respond to.
(2) Religious Behavior:
Al-Shafi’i (2014) posits that what is meant by religious behavior are two basic matters, namely religious belief and religious practice related to the Islamic religion. Muhammad (2009) defines religious behavior as the responses of individuals in different life situations based on what is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah.
(3) Technology Awareness:
Ahmed (2008) defines technological awareness as the knowledge of the effects of technology in our lives and societies, whether positively or negatively, and the prevention of the potential effects resulting from dealing with that technology while employing it optimally for the benefit of the individual and society.
(11) Research Materials:
1. Preparing the topics of Islamic culture using the Web Quest strategy (prepared by the researcher).
2. Preparing the student handbook.
3. Preparing the teacher’s guide.
(5) Research Significance:
1. Assisting Sharia teachers in teaching Sharia disciplines in an unconventional way.
2. Developing students’ thinking and researching skills.
3. Students’ self-learning.
4. Developing students’ technology awareness.
5. Developing religious behavior of students.
(6) Research Methodology:
The researcher uses the quasi-experimental approach, using one-group, with pre- and post-test.
(7) Research Sample:
A group of (30) Al-Azhar first-year secondary stage students among Al-Jalawia Azharite Institute.
(8) Research Delimitations:
Time Delimitations: The research wasapplied in the first semester 2020/2021.
Place Delimitations: Al-Jalawia Preparatory Secondary Azharite Institute, affiliated to the Educational Administration of Al-Jalawea.
(9) Research Variables:
1. The Independent Variable: Web Quests
2. The two dependent variables:
• Religious behavior
On the other hand, the importance of religious behavior in the life of a Muslim person comes through his application of the teachings of the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet so that he can enjoy himself in this world and be happy in the Hereafter. Therefore, the research problem is determined by the low religious behavior and technology awareness among first-grade students of Al-Azhar secondary stage.
(2) Research Questions:
1. What is the effectiveness of Web Quest in teaching Islamic culture on the religious behavior of Al-Azhar first-year secondary stage students?
2. What is the effectiveness of the Web Quest in teaching Islamic culture on the technological awareness among Al-Azhar first-year secondary stage students?
(3) Research Hypotheses:
1. There is no statistically significant difference at the ratio of 0.05 between the pre and post administration among the study participants in the scale of religious behavior.
2. There is no statistically significant difference at 0.05 between the pre and post administration among the study participants in the technology awareness scale.
(4) Research Objective:
1. Developing religious behavior among Al-Azhar first-year secondary stage students
2. Developing technology awareness among Al-Azhar first-year secondary stage students.
Summary
Introduction:
One of the most important Educational Strategies based on the use of the Internet and making use of the information there is the Strategy of investigating the web, or what is sometimes called web tasks or Web Quests via the web. (Abdul-Hamid, 2009). Al-Mahr (2011) defines the Strategy of Web Quests as ”a Strategy that allows Students to systematically investigate the web and Activate its role in the Educational process in order to Achieve safe use of it, and to save the time and effort of the learner devoted to navigating the web.”
Since the behavior of a Muslim is evidence of his/her belief in Allah Almighty, therefore, restricting the Religious Behavior of Individuals to only the formal performance of worshipping, so that it does not reflect on the actual practice in life is contrary to its true meaning (Al-Muhajiri and Al-Harithi, 1990). Furthermore, the current situation have imposed that technology awareness be obligatory for everyone who deals with modern technological means, including websites. Among these age groups, which are considered active users of these websites, are teenagers, including secondary school students (Faraj: 2016).
(1)Research problem:
Awareness of the use of modern Technology has become a realistic necessity in the Educational process, and this necessity has increased after the wave of (Covid-19) and the use of electronic devices in social, political, commercial and even educational communication through the use of distance education platforms in teaching. This comes by paying attention to technology awareness and the need to spread it in society.
