The study aimed to identify the extent to which investigative documentaries on digital visual platforms address societal issues and their relationship to the knowledge of the Jordanian public. This study is one of the descriptive studies and research, and it relies on the media survey method, both descriptive and analytical, and aims to describe situations, phenomena or events and collect accurate facts about them with the aim of accurately identifying the phenomenon, situation or event and drawing an integrated picture of it that is realistic or accurate using quantitative and qualitative tools such as: The questionnaire form, the content analysis form, and the analytical study community is represented in all the investigative documentary programs on the visual digital platforms, and it includes a deliberate sample of the survey documentaries that were presented on the digital visual platforms, whether paid or free, and the field study community is represented in a deliberate sample of 500 respondents from Those interested in following up on digital visual platforms from three governorates (Amman, Karak, Irbid) in 2021. The main objectives of the study are as follows: 1- Monitoring the relationship between the exposure of the Jordanian public to investigative documentaries on digital visual platforms, information bulge, diversity of content and knowledge of issues. 2- Knowing the relationship between the priorities of the aspects of the media richness of the digital visual platforms and the speed of reaction of the Jordanian public, and the ability of the platforms to transmit signals using modern technological techniques. 3-Analyzing the relationship between the frameworks of investigative documentaries in digital visual platforms, the type of medium and the type of ownership. 4- Interpreting the relationship between the communicator’s strategy in handling documentaries on digital visual platforms, the type of medium, and the type of ownership. 5- Knowing the relationship between the use of digital visual platforms by the Jordanian public, the study sample, and their knowledge of societal issues. 6- Measuring the differences in the patterns of Jordanian audience viewing of documentaries on digital visual platforms according to demographic variables. 7- Analyzing the differences in the Jordanian public’s use of digital visual platforms and their knowledge of societal issues according to demographic variables. The study was divided into four chapters, where the first chapter dealt with the methodological and theoretical framework of the study, and a review of the study problem, its objectives and questions, as well as a presentation of the most important previous studies that are directly and indirectly related to the subject of the study, the theoretical framework of the study, study terms, and methodological procedures for the study, while the second chapter dealt with The cognitive framework of the study is represented in two sections: documentaries on digital visual platforms, and digital visual platforms, while the third chapter dealt with the results of the analytical study, while the fourth chapter deals with the results of the field study, and finally the conclusion and recommendations of the study. The most important findings of the study:  The results of the study indicated the digital visual platforms on which the respondents watched investigative documentaries, in the first place, Facebook, in the second place WhatsApp, in the third place YouTube, and in the fourth place, Instagram.  The results of the study showed the content of societal issues that are seen in investigative documentaries on visual digital platforms, in the first rank social, in the second rank political, in the third rank educational, in the fourth rank environmental, and in the fifth rank is economic, and in the sixth rank is sports.  The results of the study revealed the way to interact with investigative documentaries on visual digital platforms. In the first order, indicators were set for voting on the included programs, and in the second order, links to investigative documentaries were placed on visual digital platforms on social networks, and in the third order, providing spaces for dialogue and discussion.  The results of the study indicated the interactive nature of investigative documentaries on visual digital platforms. In the first place, a survey of the public’s opinions about the services of the platform, in the second place, the participation of investigative documentaries on visual digital platforms, and in the third place, a survey of the public’s opinions about specific issues. Finally, the following recommendations were reached: 1- The need for digital visual platforms to pay attention to educating the Jordanian public about following documentaries, by constantly mentioning these programs and encouraging active participation in them. 2- Diversity in the form and content of documentaries presented to the public on digital visual platforms, so as to attract the attention of the Jordanian public and arouse its interest in all different age groups. 3- Continuing to develop and update documentary programs on digital visual platforms, as the results of the study related to the attitudes of the sample members towards these programs showed that they are positive trends.
