Abstract

A total of 232 (144 lambs and 88 goat-kids) aged from 1-60 days from two provinces were examined and the clinical signs were recorded. Fecal swabs were collected from 232 animals. The results of bacteriological examination revealed that 193 out of 232 fecal swabs (117 lambs and 76 goat-kids) were positive with percentage of 83% (81.3% lambs and 86.4% goat-kids).PCR made in order to confirm the bacterial isolation results, Out of 163 positive E-coli sample for animals (98 lambs and 65 goat-kids), there were 20 samples subjected to PCR examination for detection 16SRNA of E-coli at 401pb amplicon while Out of 30 positive Salmonella sample for animals (19 lambs and 11 goat-kids), there were 10 samples subjected to PCR examination for detection invA gene of Salmonella at 389 bp amplicon, The results revealed that (100%) were positive for E-coli and Salmonella. The most prevalent enteric bacteria isolated from diarrheic lambs were E-coli with a percentage of 80% while, the most prevalent enteric bacteria isolated from diarrheic goat-kids were E-coli with a percentage of 78%.Studying the sensitivity of isolated strains of members of enterobacteriaceae (E-coli and Salmonella) to different antibiotics discs in vitro, showed that all strains highly sensitive to Marbofloxacin, Imipenem, Norfloxacin.
