Abstract This study was meant to evaluate prospectively functional outcomes of wrist arthroscopy in the management of triangular fibrocartilage tears.Twenty seven patients were recruited during the period between April 2017 and April 2020. Patients were recruited in this study based on a set of selection criteria; we included patients older than 16 years of age who had a period of conservative treatment for at least 3 months. We excluded those with degenerative joint changes, DRUJ frank instability, or had positive ulnar variance > 2mm on plain X-rays. All patients had a systematic clinical and radiological examination. An MRI scan was suggestive of a TFCC injury in the majority of patients, and was confirmed using the arthroscope. |
