Abstract

In the last decade of the twentieth century, the industrial field witnessed the emergence and use of modern methodologies and tools that encourage continuous development and improvement, as well as improving workers awareness knowledge and reducing losses and waste. These methodologies assist in production development and keep resources, in order to increase production efficiency, continuity and competition. As the industrial field witnessed in the first and second decades of the twentieth century, attention to food safety, especially specifications, laws, regulations and customer requirements. One of the most important methodologies is Lean Manufacturing. that provide various tools necessary to enhance workers awareness & knowledge, increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. This dissertation described implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools to improve food processes related to food safety to overcome and solve problems in addition to improve operation performance that led to increased customer satisfaction and achieve compliance with legal and international standards requirements. Research methodology, and research design determined based on literature studies researcher set a main hypothesis and other three sub hypotheses and variables,The researcher implement a case study with FMCG firm to achieve study objectives, by analyzing problem root causes that lead to non-compliance with the requirements of National Food Safety Authority and the Food Safety Standard of the British Retail Consortium BRC Version 8. using statistical tools i.e., Pareto, fishbone, Histogram, and Pie chart. Study results and testing hypotheses proves that; There is a positive relationship between (Lean tools) as independent variable and the dependent variable (Food Safety), which equal 0.948 and significant at 0.05. Also, there is a positive relationship between the three dimensions (TPM , 5S , and Worker’s awareness) of lean tools that equal 0.932, 0.767, and 0.665 respectively and significant at 0.05 using Spearman Rho Correlation
