Its first goal was to spread science and arts among people, and to facilitate the memorization of scientific texts for students. This phenomenon expanded until it became a well-established thing in the later ages, and reached all the sciences known at the time. The poets varied in their educational poetry systems, some of them preserved some of the poetic characteristic, and kept some of the poetic hints, especially in the introductions, and others referred it to pure systems, which have no poetry except the external form. Educational poetry has its benefits and harms, and some of its benefits are: spreading science, facilitating its memorization, and its disadvantages: confusion with poetry, and calculating it for it, and this offends the concept of poetry, and the image of Arabic poetry (). Looking at Ibn Musharraf’s Diwan, we find that he has four educational systems: three in creed and the origins of religion and one in history.
