Abstract The present study was carried out at the Department of Surgery, Anesthesiology & Radiology - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Zagazig University, Egypt and divided into two parts: Part I (clinical study): This part was performed to record different types of tibial and fibular fractures in dogs and cats admitted to the Clinic of Department of Surgery, Anesthesiology & Radiology - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Zagazig University, Egypt with some trails of treatment. The affected animals were subjected to the proper clinical and radiographic examinations. Part II (experimental study): This part was performed to (i) Compare the efficacy of PRP and A-PRF on regeneration of induced tibial bone defects in dogs, and (ii) Compare the regenerative ability of the induced bone defects at the level of proximal metaphysis, mid diaphysis and distal metaphysis of the tibia in dogs. Animal handling and surgical protocols were conducted according to the guidelines of animal care and use committee of Zagazig University, Egypt (Reference No: ZU-IACUC/2/ F/111/ 2021). |
