Abstract This study attempted to investigate the effectiveness of the process-writing strategy for developing the linguistic structures in EFL writing of the first-grade students in El Makrizy Secondary School. The study had one-group of 25 participants that consisted of both male and female students. It includes three instruments: a writing skills’ checklist, a writing test and a scoring rubric.The students were taught adopting a process-oriented strategy participated in the study.The findings revealed that students who received training in the process-oriented strategy in writing compositions outperformed their performance before applying the strategy. Accordingly, it was concluded that the proposed strategy based on the process writing approach was effective for the linguistic structures necessary for composition writing among secondary schools in Egypt |
