Abstract

Study disease outcome in the form of loco-regional control, overall survival & disease-free survival in patients with maxillary sarcoma managed in head and neck unit NCI between January 2009 and December 2018 .Patients & methods: A retrospective Cohort study including all patients diagnosed in NCI by maxillary sarcoma in period from (January 2009 to December 2018), excluding patients with Kaposi sarcoma. Results: This was a retrospective Cohort study which was conducted on 60 patients, diagnosed with Maxillary sinus sarcoma which is pathologically proved, subdivided into 40 patients diagnosed with maxillary soft tissue sarcoma and 20 patients with Bone sarcoma to evaluate maxillary sinus sarcoma patients’ outcome including, loco-regional control, overall survival, and disease free survival. Among 40 patients with maxillary sinus sarcoma, there were 31 males (77.5%) and 9 females (22.5%) , with median age 30 years and 22 patients (55 %) above 30 years-old , and 18 patients (45%) below 30 years-old .The median follow up was 36 months, with range from 6 months to 84 months.Uni-variant analysis showed that adjuvant RTH has statistically significant effect on overall survival; also on multi variant analysis adjuvant RTH was the only predictor that has a statistically significant effect on overall survival
