Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of games-based assessment in developing English oral reading fluency skills of primary stage pupils. The quasi-experimental design was adopted. The participants were two intact groups from El-Adawy primary school, which were chosen and assigned to an experimental group (20) and a control group (20). The English oral reading fluency questionnaire and the English oral reading fluency test were designed and administered for collecting data. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney Test, and Wilcoxon Test were used for data analysis. The results revealed that games-based assessment was effective in developing English oral reading fluency skills of primary stage pupils. |
