Abstract Background: The restoration of function using immediate dental implants results in more patient satisfaction compared to delayed dental implants. Soft tissue augmentation was introduced around immediate dental implants to achieve better esthetics. The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of connective tissue graft (CTG) and leukocytes platelet rich fibrin (L-PRF) for soft tissue augmentation at immediate implant site. Materials and Methods:12 Patients with single or multiple non-restorable teeth in the anterior or premolar area were randomly assigned to either receiving immediate implant alone or immediate implant with CTG and PRF and followed up to 6 months. Healing Index were measured after 1 month, Pink Esthetic Score (PES) was measured after 6 months, width of keratinized tissue (WKT) , tissue biotype, crestal bone level (CBL), patient satisfaction were measured at base line, 3and 6 months. Results: Immediate implant with CTG and PRF had no significant effecton PES (P=0.310), CBL (P=0.425) and healing index reported outcomes. While a statistically significant difference was found in WKT (P=0.162), tissue biotype (p=0.012). Immediate implant alone showed significant difference on patient satisfaction (P=0.023) as compared to immediate implant with soft tissue augmentation. Conclusion:(1)Immediate implant in combination with CTGandL-PRFenhanced tissue biotype, and percentage increase of width of keratinized tissue (2)CBL was stable with no further loss in CTG and PRF sites (3) CTG and PRF did not add particular benefit to wound healing at immediate implant sites when evaluated after 1 month (4) Patient satisfaction was higher with immediately placed implant when CTG and PRF were not used |
