Abstract

Bang’s disease or contagious abortion is an infectious disease affects many animal species and humans caused by Bacteria of the genus Brucella. Bang’s disease was first recognized as a zoonotic disease on Malta Island in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was reported in 1939 for the first time in Egypt, Brucellosis became endemic in most parts of Egypt. Bang’s disease is still a leading zoonosis in the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean region containing Egypt and a disease of economic importance.The present study was carried out during the period between (2015- 2019).This study was planned for investigation of Serosurvey to evaluate and compare seroprevalence of Bang’s disease among native slaughtered livestock in Egypt and imported Sudanese livestock which slaughtered in Egypt, comparing seroprevalence of Bang’ Disease in some bovines slaughtered inside and outside abattoirs in Giza Governorate, and the efficacy of veterinary public health education through the strategic communication and veterinary extension and outreach in changing cultural heritage of the Egyptians and its rule in minimizing the disease in the animal in an Egyptian village
