Abstract In this work we focused on the fabrication of new chemically modified carbon paste electrodes (CPEs) based on turmeric or L-ornithine ionphores and o-nitrophenyloctyl ether (o-NPOE) as solvent mediator were prepared and investigated as Copper(II) ion selective electrodes. They showed good sensitivity toward Cu(II) ions with regard to most common transition metal ions. The sensors were applied for determination of Cu(II) ions in different pure and water samples with satisfactory and good reproducibility results. The surface characterization of the sensors was described using SEM, EDX and IR spectra measurements. Method validation parameters were carefully studied according to IUPAC recommendation |
