Abstract
All the clinical features may however change throughout the lifespan, starting from adolescence to postmenopausal age. therefore, PCOS should be considered as a lifespan disorder, although the specific phenotype of PCOS in postmenopausal women is still poorly defined( Pasquali et al .,2006 ).Insulin resistance with compensatory hyperinsulinemia appears to be the most universal feature of the polycystic ovarian disease and has a pathophysiologic role in the hyperandrogenism of the disorder (Legroet al .,2007 ).Nearly 20% of obese women with PCOS have an impaired glucose tolerance test (GTT) or diabetes,women with PCOS experience an increased frequency of hypothalamic GnRH pulses, which in turn results in an increase in the LH/FSH ratio (Lewandowski., et al 2011).PCOS compromises other pathological conditions that strongly modify the phenotype and play a dominant role in the pathophysiology of the disorder, including insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia, obesity and metabolic disorders, this mechanism increases risks
