Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to illustrate how Outsourcing Decision should be carried out from a strategic perspective, as outsourcing decisions are typically made by default with little regard to the firm’s long-term competitiveness; this strategic perspective can be achieved through the integration of Value Chain Analysis as a strategic cost management tool into the overall strategy of the organization. Then, this thesis proposes a new framework to investigate the potential role of Value Chain Analysis in supporting Outsourcing Decision to achieve sustainable competitive advantages.The researcher used the constructive approach with a case study to conduct a proposed framework for the integration between Value Chain Analysis and Outsourcing Decision in the real world. This research was applied in DANONE company by constructing a case study to clarify the application of the proposed framework. Data was gathered through questionnaires and interviews. Then the scoring model was applied to identify the best decision alternative for a multi-criteria decision problem through the trade-off between these criteria. |
