Abstract

DM is a chronic disease that correlates markedly with vascular complications. The complications of diabetes can be divided into macrovascular complications (coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, and stroke) and microvascular complications (diabetic nephropathy, neuropathy, and retinopathy) leading to organ and tissue damage in people with diabetes (Turner et al. 1991).
