Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate the impact of employee{u2019}s attitude on women as a leader whether they are transformational/transactional leadership style moderated by demographic variables which are (gender, education level, experience and age) in the banking sector in Egypt. Specifically, this study aimed at: 1) figuring out the main women{u2019}s styles of leadership existing in the banking sector; 2) investigating the impact of employee{u2019}s attitudes on women as a leader; 3) to identify the roles of the employee{u2019}s values and beliefs in developing this attitude. Based on the objectives and research questions, two (2) hypotheses were developed to determine the relationship between employee{u2019}s attitude and women as leaders. The sample type for this study is a convenient sample and consisted of employees from two banks (1 publicly owned and 1 private bank) existing in Egypt (Giza branches). questionnaires were used to gather data on a 5-point Likert scale and were distributed to 385 employees. The overall findings of the study revealed that attitude have a significant positive relationship impact on women as a leader and regarding the moderator variables (demographic), Regarding gender, education level and experience there is no significant impact on women as a leader. Moreover, Age was found to have a significant impact regarding the relationship between attitude and women as a leader. Theoretical and practical contributions were discussed. Finally, several suggested points were mentioned for future studies
