Abstract In the current study, we report our experience with laparoscopic adrenalectomy for large adrenal tumors more than 4 cm; classified into 2 groups, group A for adrenal tumors less than 6 cm and group B more than 6 cm . Retrospective data was collected and analyzed on the clinical presentation, pathology, management, post operative complications, hospital stay and rate of recurrence at department of surgical oncology, NCI, Cairo University from January 2014 to December 2017. This study included 25 patients (7 Males and 18 Females) with a mean age of 36.40 ±16.90. The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of malignancy, oncologic outcome, peri-operative morbidity, and long-term follow-up of LA in relatively small (>60 mm) and large (>60 mm) adrenal tumors. In this study, the frequency of adrenal malignancy, rate of recurrence and oncologic safety were not clearly related to the size of the tumor ; however conversion into open procedure occurred in 4 cases in group B for adrenal tumors more than 60 mm owing to intraoperative uncontrollable bleeding |
