Abstract Synthesis of new derivatives of tetralin nucleus coupled with various substituted pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine ring system. The thesis also includes the synthesis of a new series of tetralin-pyridine hybrids in good yields by reacting 2-((3-cyano-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-6-(5,6,7,8- tetrahydronaphthalen-2-yl)pyridin-2-yl)oxy)acetohydrazide with a variety of reagents. The new prepared compounds were examined against HCT116 and (MCF-7) cell lines and provided significant anticancer activities which could be considered as promising anticancer agents. The parent intermediate; 3-amino-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine derivative 5 and its Nacetylated derivative 9 appeared to be of dual potency against both types of cancer cells. Also, studying the cytotoxic activity of the new compounds on HCT116 and MCF-7 human cancer cells using MTT assay proved that they are good active colon cancer candidate drugs and some of them showed good activities against breast cancer. The structures of the new compounds were confirmed by spectral data as well as elemental analysis |
