Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the effect of video self-modeling (VSM) on developing the English speaking skills of primary school pupils. The sample of the study consisted of 4 pupils (3 girls and 1 boy) at the age of ten from primary government school (El-Sayed Nasr Sarhan Primary School - Qalyubia Governorate). They were low achievers in English language speaking skills. One-group pretest-posttest design was applied. A pre- and post-test of speaking skills was administered to the sample before and after implementing the study intervention.Pupils of the sample were filmed while responding to some speaking tasks and activities. After editing their videos, deleting errors, hesitations, and irrelevant responses, the researcher created 2 short videos for each pupil.Pupils kept watching their edited videos for three weeks. Results indicated that VSM intervention has a positive effect on developing speaking skills of the study sample |
