Abstract

The study attempted to investigate the effectiveness of an online teaching conference-based program in enhancing EFL teachers ’phonological awareness and their attitudes. Fifty EFL teachers from different Educational Administration were participated in the program. The study adopted a pre-post one group design (a quasi-experimental design). It had a pre- post means of getting data. The group of the research design was exposed to pre–post measurement in phonological awareness test and online teaching attitude scale. The group of the research design was instructed and trained using an online teaching conference-based program. The instruments of the study included an online teaching conference-based program framework, a teacher’s guide, a trainees’ handout, a phonological awareness test and an online teaching attitude scale. The whole materials were judged by jury members (N = 11). Analysis of the collected data indicated that the study subjects achieved significantly higher progress in their performance in the post administration of the phonological awareness test and online teaching attitude scale than their pre administration of the phonological awareness test and the online teaching attitude scale. It was concluded that online teaching conference-based program enhanced EFL teachers’ phonological awareness and their attitude towards online teaching.
