Abstract

This present study was carried out on 100 animals (40 dogs and 60 cats).
Out of this number 30 were apparently healthy (included 10 dogs and 20 cats) which assumptive for vaccination or for general health checkup, while 70 were other affections.
The affected animals were recorded in 70 animals . A total number of 40 suffer from female genital system ( included 23 dogs and 17 cats ), 7 suffer from male genital system (included 5 dogs and 2 cats ), 43 suffer from male urinary system (included 2 dogs and 20 cats) and one female urinary system.
from this data, we have reported the high incidence of surgical genital affections in male genital system in dogs (5 cases)
Included: cryptorchidism (n=2) and transmissible venereal tumor (TVT)(n=3).
Total number of male genital system in cats (2 cases)
Included : cryptorchidism (n=2)
Total number of female genital system in dogs (23 cases)
Included: cystic ovary (n=1), pyomtra (n=5), dystocia (n=3), uterine prolapse (no=1), uterine tumor (n=1), vaginal prolapse (n=2), vaginal hyper plasia (n=4), vaginal tumor TVT(n=3),mammary gland tumor (n=2),mammay gland inflammation (n=1).
Total number of female genital system in cats (17 cases)
Included: pyomtra (no=6), uterine prolapse (n=1), dystocia (n=6), mammary gland tumor (no=2),mammay gland inflammation (n=2).
Total number of urinary sytem in male dog (2 cases) and female (1)
Included: cystotomy (n=3)
Total number of urinary sytem in male cats (20 cases)
Included: nephrotomy (n=2), cystotomy (n=17), urethrotomy (n=1)
Diagnostic approach by using Radiological examination, Ultrasonography, laboratory examination, histopathological examinations.
Different surgical procedure was applied as Castration in animals with cryptorchidism and animals with pyometra, dystocia, uterine tumor, uterine prolapse and ovarian cyst were treated by ovariohysterectomy and Caesarian section and also Surgical affections of urinary system of catheterization in obstruction and operative as cystotomy and perineal urethrostomy.
The study approved that the most affections among total surgical affections was Pyometra and dystocia in female genital system in queens, And Cryptorchidism then transmissible venereal tumor(TVT) was the most common surgical affections in male genital system in male dogs and tom cats and also cystotomy is a common procedure in veterinary medicine in cats mainly.
All surgical operations were performed under the effect of injectable general anesthesia using atropine sulphate as 0.05 mg/kg I/M and xylaject (Xylazine HCl, as 2 mg/kg) I/M, for premedication followed by ketamine (Ketamine HCl, as 5-10 mg/kg) I/M for induction and maintenance of anesthesia.
