Abstract Platelet concentrates improve implant stability and accelerate osseointegration, according to research. This can be achieved using concentrated growth factors (CGF) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). Study objective: Was to compare between the effect of CGF and PRF on the osseointegration of immediate implants. Materials and methods: This study included 14 patients who required immediate extraction and replacement of mandibular premolars. Each patient received one implant, and the patients were randomly divided into two groups. In group A, the implant cavity was lined with a PRF membrane. In group B, the implant cavity was lined with a CGF membrane. Bone graft material was used to fill the socket’s empty areas. Using the OSSTELL device, resonance frequency was measured intraoperatively during the first week and three months later. Cone beam computed tomography was performed prior to surgery, immediately after surgery, and three months later. Results: Implant stability, bone density significantly improved using both PRF or CGF with better results clinically and radiographically in favor of CGF but with no statistically significant difference between the two groups clinically and radiographically. Conclusion: Concentrated growth factors (CGF) enhance osseointegration with better clinical and radiographic outcomes than platelet rich fibrin. |
