Abstract This study assessed influence of 1% phytic acid and 17% EDTA on the dentinal tubules penetration of EndoSequence BC bioceramic-based and AH Plus resin-based sealers using CLSM. Forty single-rooted mandibular premolars were divided randomly into four groups Group1- root canal preparation using phytic acid 1% for one minute as final irrigation and obturated with gutta-percha and resin sealer. group 2- root canal preparation using phytic acid 1% for one minute as final irrigation and obturated with gutta-percha and bioceramic sealer. Group3- root canal preparation using EDTA 17% for one minute as a final irrigation and obturated with gutta-percha and resin sealer. group 4- root canal preparation using EDTA 17% for one minute as a final irrigation and obturated with gutta-percha and bioceramic sealer. Specimens were horizontally sectioned 2, 4 and 6 mm from the apex. Average maximum depth and percentage of sealer penetration were examined using CLSM. group 3 showed the deepest sealer penetration at all three levels which was significantly higher than all other groups. group 4 showed the highest percentage of sealer penetration at all three levels. |
