Abstract

The current study aimed to assess the nutritional and health status of liver patients in some hospitals in Menoufia Governorate and to know the extent of the impact of liver problems on human health.
This thesis is concerned with a study of the nutritional status of liver patients. The study was conducted on samples (males and females) who suffer from liver disease at the Liver Institute Hospital in Shebin El-Koum and University Hospital. They were randomly selected and the sample was divided into (76) patients from the first hospital and (60) patients from University Hospital.
Anthropometric measurements and laboratory analyzes of liver, kidney and blood functions were performed, and the amount of food was retrieved over a 24 hour period, as well as taking data from each case that included a form of socioeconomic status, habits and statistical study conducted at the Home Economics Unit of Menoufia University using the SPSS system under the Microsoft Windows operating system.
The results showed the patients with cirrhosis of the liver at the University Hospital were more malnourished than the Hospital of the Institute of Liver.
First: Social Status:
• The percentage of total samples of married women for hepatitis patients in the second and first hospitals (60%) and (58.8%), respectively, while the percentage of married males and the first hospital was (60%), while the percentage of the second hospital was (85%).
