Abstract The redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus, RC-crayfish) is a freshwater crustacean species being farmed for its high profitability, market value, and consumer preference. Understanding the role of diets in maturation can help us overcome some of the challenges related to reproduction and production. With the expansion in the raising of RCcrayfish, the requirements for adequate feed have been increasing. However, little is known about the nutrient requirements of the RCcrayfish, particularly additives supplementations such as vitamin E (VE), nucleotides (NT), Haemtococcus pluvialis (H.P), arachidonic acid (ARA), and yeast extract (YE). However, it is still unclear whether the different dietary supplementations (correctly containing different combinations of VE, NT, H.P, ARA, and YE) may improve the reproduction and production of RC-crayfish (especially females or FRC-crayfish). |
