Abstract

E-marketing has become one of the most effective-marketing tools due to the internet and new technologies, which are having a great effect on the customers’ decisions. In fact, nowadays if companies are targeting to gain brand awareness and getting more customers to increase their sales volume, they ought to consider the beneficial role of e-marketing to their business.
Search engines became essential to meet customers’ inquiries, since they provide all the information required for the internet users in a few seconds.
The present study aims to analyze the role of search engine marketing, for both organic and paid search engine optimization (SEO), as an E-Marketing supportive tool for tourism companies’ websites and their effect on the sales volume. It also aims to examine the extent to which Egyptian tourism companies are promoting their services via search engines, in order to extract an SEO model that can be applied to enhance the rank of the website page results on search engines.
The present study uses a quantitative research approach through a survey to collect and analyze the pertinent data. It also uses secondary data from a tourism website after applying a SEO model in order to examine research objectives and provide an eventual model to utilize Search Engine Optimization as a marketing tool. The present study proved the important effect of using the search engine-marketing on the increase in website traffic, brand awareness and sales volumes.
In Egypt, most companies still neglect the role of search engine marketing and its importance to attract more customers and to keep them in touch with the new technological innovations.
