Abstract After an interview and physical examination to all subjects of the study, blood samples were collected after 12 hours fasting and will be subjected to: measurement of Fasting blood glucose (FBG) and lipid profile (TG, total cholesterol, LDL-C, and HDL-C concentrations).DNA were extracted from the circulating leucocytes then The DNA samples were treated with sodium bisulfate for DNA methylation. PCR was done for detection the promoter methylation of TFAM using the specific primers. PCR products will be visualized on 2% agarose gel containing ethidium bromide and photograph was taken. Our findings revealed that TFAM promoter methylationwas not associated with MS. In conclusion, DNA methylation might serve as a biomarker for T2D or MS, although further investigation is required. |
