Abstract

5.1 The main objective of this thesis is to: 1) The effect of organic and chemical applied fertilization and their interaction on some vegetative growth characters and chemical composition of Moringa pants.2) The effect of both cultivation date and plant density and their interaction on vegetative growth characters and chemical composition of Moringa plants.3) Estimate the appropriate rates of both organic and mineral fertilizers to increase the productivity of Moringa plant herbs under the Egyptian conditions in the newly reclaimed lands.4) Determine the appropriate cultivation date and plant density to produce the highest yield of Moringa plant herbs.
Therefore two field experiments were carried out during the two successive seasons of 2016 and 2017 in the Experimental Farm of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in Burg Al Arab. Two experiments were conducted in this concern as follows: Both conducted experiments were layout in split plot design during both seasons of this study, with three replicates for each treatment. All obtained data of the present were statistically, analyzed according to the experiment design (split plot design) by using COSTAT package for analysis of variance (ANOVA).The comparisons among the means of different treatments were carried out, using the least significant difference test (L.S.D.) at 0.05 level of probability according to Snedecor and Cochran (1980).5.2 The obtained results could be summarized as follows:5.2.1 Vegetative growth – related characters of the first experiment:5.2.1.1 The main effect of applied organic fertilizer In terms of the main effect of applied organic fertilizer, results revealed, generally, that the given independent variable exerted significant (p ≤ 0.05) effects on plant height, leaf fresh and dry weight, stem fresh and dry weights, leaf area and plot total weight (kg) during both seasons .on the other hand, no. of stem per plant was not significantly (p > 0.05) affected. However, no. of leaf / plant (in the second season only), was affected, significantly (p ≤ 0.05). The affected vegetative growth characters, significantly, exhibited progressive increase, more or less, due to increase applied organic fertilizer levels. The plant height increment percentage point was18.63 due to applying 30 m3 / fed., meanwhile for stem dry weight and plot total fresh weight were 77.82 and 30.94, respectively, because of applying 20 m3 / fed. Meanwhile, the highest increment percentage of leaf fresh and dry, and stem fresh weight, leaf area were 44.76, 41.66, 38.07 and 17.28, each in turn. Nevertheless, there was no remarkable or significant increment percentage for no. of leaf / plant, no. of stem / plant.
