Abstract In the present study, we have evaluated the possible protective effects of liposomal curcumin and nano quercetin in DSS-induced colitis. This study divided into two experiment, first experiment used 40 clinically healthy mature adult Sprague-Dawley male albino rats, the animals were divided into (4) groups (n=10). The second experiment used 50 clinically healthy mature adult Sprague-Dawley male albino rats, the animals were divided into (5) groups (n=10). Experimental design 1 Control group: the animals left without any treatment. DSS group: the colitis induced by DSS administration (3% w/v) in the drinking water of animals for 7 days. Lip. Cur. prophylactic group: the animals were received the prophylactic liposomal curcumin (10 mg/kg b.wt) for 2 weeks before and during induction orally by stomach tube, then the colitis induced by DSS (3%) in the drinking water of animals for the last 7 days of liposomal curcumin administration. Lip. Cur. Treated group: the DSS animals were received the non-prophylactic liposomal curcumin (10 mg/kg b.wt) for 2 weeks after induction orally by stomach tube. |
