Abstract

The aim of this work is to develop simple, accurate, precise and, most importantly, sensitive methods for the determination of some GIT drugs either alone or in combination with other drugs. The work involves the analysis of these drugs in their pure form and either in commercially used pharmaceutical dosage forms or in biological fluids using analytical techniques such as spectroscopy and chromatography.GIT drugs investigated include ( H2 {u2013} blockers: famotidine; proton pump inhibitors: omeprazole, esomeprazole, lansoprazole and rabeprazole; anti-emetic drugs: domperidone) alone or in combination with other drugs as NSAIDs (aspirin, diclofenac potassium and naproxen), antimicrobial agent (clarithromycin) or antiprotozoal agent (tinidazole).HPLC is a powerful analytical tool for the separation and analysis of pharmaceutical products. It is incorporated in the plan of the work using ultraviolet detection for the estimation of FAM / OMP with DIC potassium in their two binary mixtures, for the estimation of ESO in three binary mixtures with ASP, DOM and NAP and OMP/ CLR / TIN in their ternary mixture and analysis of their pharmaceutical products.HPLC-MS/MS method was proposed for the separation and quantitiation of ESO, LAN, PAN and RAB in human plasma to obtain higher sensitivity. Chemometric techniques were suggested for resolving spectral overlap displayed by FAM/DIC potassium, OMP/DIC potassium , ESO/ASP and ESO/ DOM in their binary mixtures. In addition, validation of these methods and statistical comparison between the results obtained by the proposed methods and those of the reference methods was performed in addition to statistical comparison between the results of these methods
