Abstract The present study was designed to compare the effect of printing layer thickness of computer aided surgical guide on accuracy of the surgical guides regarding linear and angular deviation between virtual implant planning and actual execution in patient mouth. The study was conducted on six patients recruited from the outpatient clinic of the faculty of dentistry, Cairo University. Duplication of patient denture to construct scan appliance containing a radio-opaque material which inserted in patient mouth during CBCT. After scanning, the DICOM files were imported to the blue sky bio software to virtually place the implants and perform designing of the surgical guide. Export of file containing the surgical guide design and 3D printing of the surgical to be used in implant placement in the patient mouth. After surgery, a post-operation CBCT of the patient wearing the scan appliance was done. The DICOM files were imported to the software in order to do super imposition of the planed and actual implants in terms of linear and angular deviation. The results were tabulated and statistically |
