Abstract
The management of thoracolumbar burst fractures remains challenging. Saving motion segments by limiting the number of the fusion segments has been as a fundamental principle of spinal surgery. Some authors have tried using monosegmental pedicle instrumentation (MSPI) with placement of pedicle screws directly into the fractured vertebral body to treat thoracolumbar fractures and yielded good clinical outcome
