Abstract The knowledge of anatomical variants of the mandibular canal and its foramina is fundamental for oral surgery procedures. The present study evaluated the different anatomical variations of the measurements of mandibular canal, mental foramen and incidence of anterior loop presence among Egyptian populations at different age groups using cone beam CT scan technique. It was found that there were obvious variations in mandibular canal and mental foramen according to age, laterality and gender. The anterior loop was observed at 40% of Egyptian populations |
