المستخلص Dapsone (DPS) is a unique sulfone with antibiotic and anti-inflammatory activity so, DPS has a great potential to treat acne .Oral and topical formulations of DPS in market had many side effects so we need new vesicular systems of DPS. In this study, DPS-loaded bilosomes and DPS-loaded invasomes were prepared using the thin film hydration technique. A full factorial experimental design was used to study the different effects, namely, the particle size, drug entrapment, and release efficiency. The optimized formulations were selected for morphological evaluation which showed spherical shaped vesicles. Further solid state characterization using differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffractometry revealed that the drug was dispersed in an amorphous state within the prepared bilosomes and invasomes. Finally, the ability of the prepared DPS-loaded bilosomes and invasomes to deliver DPS through the skin was investigated in vivo using wistar rats. In-vivo skin deposition of DPS after topical application both systems were measured. BIL1 and INV2 showed about 2.5 fold higher than DPS alcoholic solution in the amount of DPS retained in the skin after 10 h treatment |
