Abstract The objective of this study is to review oncologic outcomes obtained with early laryngeal carcinomas Tis, T1 and T2 after transoral laser micro laryngeal (TLM) surgery. Methods: Clinical trials non comparative study where 24 patients with early glottic carcinoma (8 patients Tis, 13 patients T1a and 3 patients T1b) underwent TLM at the ORL department of Kasr Alainy medical college, Cairo university and National cancer institute during the period from January 2017 to July 2018.The diagnosis was based on histopathological examination of the biopsy specimen of the lesion. All patients underwent transnasal fiberoptic laryngoscopy with photographic documentation preoperatively, postoperatively and through 6 months of follow up. Results: During 6 months follow up, disease control was obtained on 22/24 cases. One patient had a recurrence after 5 months of surgery and another one patient had a local residual after TLM. The recurrence rate was 8.3%. Conclusion: TLM is a safe and effective option in the treatment of glottic carcinomas, associated with less morbidity and a high percentage of local control |
