Abstract This work is devoted to electrochemical studies for carbon steel without or with cathodic protection in brine with or without different chemicals as copper nanoparticle, benzotriazole and/or both of them, with immersion time varied from one hour to seven days and with pH varied from extremely acidic (pH = 1) to neutral (pH = 7) one. The aim is to characterize and obtain a fundamental understanding of the corrosion behavior of this alloy in this environment. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization measurements were used to estimate the corrosion performance of carbon steel alloy in brine solution with immersion time and with different pH media. The experimental data was confirmed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and Energy dispersive X-Ray analysis (EDX) techniques |
