Abstract Background: Evaluation of echocardiographic changes in neonates with PDA during early transitional period. Methods: A prospective, observational and single-center cross sectional cohort study. Included 70 patients. Serial clinical and echocardiographic was done. Results: PDA size was highly correlated with LPA, LPA Z-score, MPA, MPA Z-score, Aortic VTI , LA, LA Z-score and pulmonary artery pressure at postnatal 48-72 hours of age. Less significant correlation with Qp:Qs, Descending aortia and PVTI . LA Z-score and LPA Z-score were the most significant correlated with PDA hemodynamic instability. Conclusion: LA Z-score and LPA Z-score were highlighted to be correlated with PDA diameter and it`s hemodynamic instability in postnatal 48 and 72 hour. Recommending further investigations |
