Abstract

Refrigeration is defined as a process of removing heat from a low-temperature reservoir and transferring it to a high-temperature reservoir.Usually, this is industrially achieved using vapor compression refrigeration cycles or absorption refrigeration cycles. In this study, seven different scenarios for absorption refrigeration cycles were studied using propylene as a refrigeration and toluene as a solvent: 1- Single absorption, single distillation 2- Single absorption, single distillation with solution split 3- Double distillation effect with two heat-exchangers before the first distillation stage 4- Double distillation effect with one heat exchanger before the second distillation stage 5- Single absorption, double distillation effect with solution split 6- Double absorption, single distillation effect 7- Double absorption, double distillation effect For each scenario, different parameters (including temperatures, pressures, split ratios and recoveries) were varied. Individually, the optimum variables were selected according the highest C.O.P achieved
