Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy between calcium hydroxide combined with silver nano-particulate and conventional calcium hydroxide as intracanal medications on postoperative pain in cases with necrotic pulp, a randomized clinical trial. -Methods: -Forty patients suffering from necrotic pulp in anterior teeth were included. -After confirming the diagnosis clinically and radiographically, patients were randomly assigned into two equal groups of 20 patients each. -The calcium hydroxide combined with silver nano particles assigned to the intervention group; while the conventional calcium hydroxide was assigned to the control group and both were used as intracanal medicament inside the root canal. -Standard endodontic treatment was performed in two visits using rotary nickel titanium files for shaping, 2.5% sodium hypochlorite for cleaning. -Using Lentulo Spiral Filler, medicaments were placed under aseptic conditions into the canals according to each group at the end of the first visit, lateral condensation technique with resin sealer for obturation was done 7 days later
