Abstract Background and aim: Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is one of the most ubiquitous viruses that canse liver pathology. presumably, a co-infection of EBV and hepatitis C Virus (EBV) may impact the prognosis of HCV-infected patiets. hence, in this study we endeavored to estimate the effect of EBV infection on the response to treatment with interferon and ribavirin therapy in chronic HCV patients.
