Abstract this study proposed to detect early carpal tunnel syndrome, and to detect sensitivity and specificity of different electrophysiological techniques in early CTS compared to the standard technique (Median Sensory Latency). Subject and methods : The present study included 70 subjects (40 subjects with clinical evidence of idiopathic CTS and 30 subjects as control group). The following tests were done for both groups : (1) Sensory nerve conduction study: median nerve, ulnar nerve , median versus ulnar latency difference, median versus ulnar latency difference recorded from digit four. (2) Motor nerve conduction study: median and ulnar nerves, median versus ulnar motor latency difference, and F wave latency difference for both median and ulnar nerves |
