Abstract Background: Hip osteoarthritis is the most common joint disorder among adult age individuals. It is painful and disabling diseases which are characterized by pain, stiffness, loss of joint function, difficulty moving and loss of muscle strength. Increasing the negative effects on hip joint leads to deterioration of the physical function and quality of life in individuals. Aim of study: Was to assess physical functional status among patients with hip osteoarthritis. Design: Descriptive study design was utilized to achieve the aim of the study. Subjects: 100 Adult male and female conscious patients diagnosed with hip osteoarthritis not on rehabilitation program were recruited in this study. Setting: Study was carried out in both orthopedic outpatient clinic, and inpatients ward at Fayoum university hospitals in Fayoum governorate. Tools: Two tools were used for data collection; (1) structured interview questionnaire including demographic and medical data as age, gender, occupation, marital status, current complain, onset and duration of illness, and,...etc. (2) WOMAC index questionnaire including pain, stiffness and physical function |
