Abstract This study was performed on ten adult patients suffering from retruded chin. All patients were treated with osseous advancement genioplasty using computer {u2013}guided plates and bony surgical guide.Ten patients were selected from the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery department clinic, faculty of oral and dental medicine, Cairo University.Pre-operative CT was made and using third party software and custom made plate with bony surgical guide was designed. No injury to any vital structures such as mental nerve or teeth root. Patients made immediate post-operative CT scans and was followed up for 6 months The accuracy of these custom made plates was done in relation to anteroposterior, transverse and vertical dimensions. Any changes concerning bone or soft tissue were measured preoperatively, in the virtual treatment plan, immediate postoperative and 6 month later.All patients underwent healing process successfully during the follow up period. Concerning the anteroposterior bony changes, there was a significant increase in mean Sn-Pog and Pog-orbitomental plane. On the contrary there was no significant statistical increase in the mean Sn-Pog and Pog-orbitomental plane between the treatment plan and immediate postoperative measurements.As for the immediate postoperative and 6 month later the outcome reveals decrease in the Sn-Pog and Pog-orbitomental plane |
