Abstract

The present study aimed to survey some of the endo and ectoparasitic protozoan and metazoan parasites infecting selected commercial fishes in Egypt. 400 fish specimens representing eight different species of eight families were collected during the period from November 2014 to July 2016 from Hurghada coasts along the Red Sea. Egypt. One species of microsporidian parasite was recovered during the current study which was Heterosporis sauridae and one species from myxosporidian parasite which was Kudoa pagrusi. Six different species of monogenean parasites were recovered during the current study which were Diclidophora merlangi, Loxuroides pricei, Haliotrema banana, Tetrancistrum sigani, Tetrancistrum nasonis and Euryhaliotrema lovejoyi. Two different species of digenean parasites were recovered during study which were Proenenterum sp. and Lecithochirium grandiporum Two different spesies of larval cestodes Callitetrarhynchus speciouses and Pseudogrillotia pleistacanth.Three different species of nematode parasites Cucullanus egyptae, Anisakis simplex (type II) and Hysterothylacium aduncum (L4). Also two different species of acanthocephalan parasites were reovered these were Serrasentis sagittifer and Neoechinorhynchus chimalapasensis
