Abstract

Background and Purpose: Pelvic floor muscle exercises are used to rehabilitate and strength pelvic floor muscles (PFMs) and promote urine storage. Pelvic floor muscle demands may be influenced by position. Objective: Prospective study to objectively evaluate impact of different pelvic floor exercises positions on women with stress urinary incontinence Materials and Methods: Forty-five women at the age of 40-50 years assigned to three groups diagnosed with stress urinary incontinence (SUI) were selected for this study, their body mass index (BMI) was <30 kg/m².They were randomly assigned to exercise in the crock lying position (A), standing position (B) or sitting position (C). The treatment program was done three times per week for 12 weeks. Squeeze vaginal pressure and Revised urinary incontinence scale (RUIS) outcomes were obtained at baseline and after treatment. Results: Showed a statistically significant increase (P<0.001) in the mean value of squeeze vaginal pressure and a statistical significant decrease (P<0.001) in the mean value of (RUIS) in all groups (A, B& C) after treatment. Between groups, there were significant differences in all groups before and after treatment but in favor of group A (P<0.001)
