Abstract The study seeks to evaluate the impact of the global challenges like immigration and terrorism, and the internal challenges within the EU like the institutional democratic deficit, the European economic crisis, and the rise of the right-wing and the national sentiments in the EU on the European public opinion towards the EU integration. The study also tackles the Brexit as a case study, the factors that pushed the British citizens to vote for leaving the EU and the implications of Brexit on the EU integration. Finally, the thesis concludes that some challenges are influencing the Europeans{u2019} perspective towards the European integration and representing a threat to the EU. So, the EU should focus on dealing with these challenges to avoid further tendencies for disintegration |
