Abstract Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that affects the secretory glands resulting in excess mucous production in the lungs, pancreas, liver and reproductive organs; the current treatment includes physiotherapy and medication. Aim: to systematically review the published randomized control trials (RCTs) about the effect of physiotherapy interventions on pulmonary functions and/or quality of life in children with CF. Methods: An electronic search was made in Cochrane library, Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) and PubMed database at November 2017 and last updated at March 2019. The research was restricted to RCTs published at the period from 2000 to 2019 on the effect of physiotherapy interventions on pulmonary functions and quality of life (QOL) in children with CF aged from 1 month up to 18 years old. Two independent reviewers extracted data from the included studies and assessed its methodological quality using PEDro scale |
