Abstract

The present investigation was the first endeavor to elucidate the strain identification and QS-dependent virulence, biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance characterization of the one humped camel) retail meat-derived Pseudomonas species. Pseudomonas could aggravate the problem of multidrug-resistant as a high prevalence of resistance to sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim and ciprofloxacin was observed. All strains were resistant to tetracycline, ampicillin and nalidixic acid and susceptible to amikacin, imipenem, gentamicin, cefepime and ceftriaxone. Pseudomonas isolates were able to produce (). Two out of the eight pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates and one of the two Pseudomonas fluorescens were deficient in the five quorum-sensing (QS) genes(lasI, lasR, rhlR, rhlAB and rhlI). One of the two pseudomonas fluorescens carried three out of the five QS genes. The rhlAB gene was present in 10% of the isolates, while lasI gene was present in 20% of the isolates., also lasI, rhlR and rhlI genes in 10% of the isolates., however lasR, rhlR and rhlI in 10%., in the other hand lasI, rhlAB and rhlI in 20%., finally lasI, rhlAB and rhlI in 10% of the isolates. Distribution of the virulence genes toxA, aprA and plcH as follow; Two of the Pseudomonas isolates did not carry any of the three virulence genes., while the virulence gene toxA was evident in two of the Pseudomonas isolates
